a famous man.

sit quietly. pen cradles in fingers.
mind open.
and wait.
                              (words flicker and drift
                              as so many leaves in wind)

have no dillusions of granduer my friend
not all of us will be remembered
most, in fact, will be forgotten.
but not our stories.

they may arrive in chaos
like cranes to the platte.

or they will dance lightly
through our mind
like summer rain passing
