WE DESIGN YOU
Everything is design. It's close. Soon the genes that give us our eye color, our hair texture, our humanness, will be as easy to slip into as the jeans we slide over our hips. Basically the improbable becomes the possible. People fly. Travel faster than sound. Appear in multiple places. We have been designed to accept the fruits of intuition as the norm. We even go so far as to rely on the structures set forth for us by our forefathers. God bless them. We're comfortable now. We can either leisurely mea nder through subliminal messaging that's physically driven, or actually wake up and use our ancestral tools. Imagination. Foresight. Intuition.
••• WE DESIGN MINDS
Everything is design. Graphic designers do not only design the packaging, the identity, the brand----basically every interaction between the consuming public, the product, the information--we design what's perceived. By designing perception, we can design minds. We can change the very way citizen-consumers speak, think, feel, respond and interact. Those of us in this position must recognize the potential power we have over the minds of others, and exercise discretion. For those on the receiving end, we must empower them to make their own decisions, to recognize the difference between manipulation and information.
••• WE DESIGN THE WORLD
Everything is design. The clothes and trinkets that give us our identity. The structures that shelter us. The pavement that connects us one to another. Good design is invisible. The unnatural becomes seamless with the natural to a point where the unexpected becomes the expected, even boring. With these marvels--birthed out of pure human intuition--we are evolving as a society. Therefore, a responsibility lies upon us all to decide what we evolve into: A utopian co-existence held together by rivets of philanthropy, benevolence, and imagination, or a populace that plunders the human intelligence to overthrow, horde, and capitalize upon the misfortune of others?
